+.giveaway time.+

So as many of you may (or may not) know, I've been into nail art for quite some time. I started practicing my own acrylic designs and messing with gels about a year or year and a half ago. I'm just now starting to join the online community with it and take my experimentation to a whole new level. You can find my new facebook fan page dedicated to it at http://facebook.com/ArtfulTips

On the same note, I've also started a new YouTube channel offering tips, tricks and tutorials for beginner nail artists. There seems to be an abundance of professional nail artists offering their tutorials, which is awesome. But somewhat intimidating for someone like me who just is not there yet. I've come across PLENTY of tutorials labeled they are for beginners, but they either assume you know certain preparation tricks (everyone's is different and some steps you may not use specifically may be important to a particular design) or they are only doing beginner prep tricks that you may already know and are all over the place. So my goal is to offer experimental videos where you can watch me actually learning and practicing during my amateur phase while I practice with products and try new things. You can find that channel at http://youtube.com/ArtfulTips

And on another note, I've been stumbling more upon a lot more extremely talented and skillful nail artists to learn from and gain inspiration from. One such blog online has caught my attention and is now offering a super generous giveaway. Please check it out here http://www.manicureaddict.com/2012/11/2-years-my-how-time-has-flown-by-im-so.html

And that is pretty much all that has been consuming my brain other than Halloween which has just passed and of course work. I hope to find you all in good health and hope those who were effected by Sandy are faring well now.

Sara's Goodies

Hey all, it's been a long time since either Sara or I posted. I'm getting pumped for Halloween in a couple days, and EDC Orlando is only TWO WEEKS away!! I'm super excited. (:

Anyway, Sara moved to Georgia recently, can't remember if she posted that yet or not, but she is pretty busy during the day and I guess she forgot about this blog! Must remind her. So! Since she hasn't posted in forever, I'm just giving her two Facebook pages some advertising!

First off, we have her homemade jewelry, soap, and graphics Etsy shop, called Lolli's Trinkets. While her shop is currently empty, she produces some pretty unique items and I totally recommend her to you guys. There are a ton of pictures on the Facebook page where you can see her past goodies! Go give her some encouraging love on Facebook! Who knows, maybe it will inspire her to start producing some more awesome stuff.(;

Sara's been dabbling in nail art and I must say, her stuff is quite impressive and I'd definitely love for her to do my nails. (; Her vlog on Youtube is just what its name suggests; Artful Tips! Artful Tips is her perspective on beginner nail art and designs, from a fellow beginner! You should totally check it out!

Home, sweet home.

I returned home from Earthdance yesterday evening and let me tell you it was amazing! My bed felt so good. I had a lot of fun with friends and family alike. Met a lot of really nice people, it was nice to let my hair down. I tried acupuncture and fell in love! The kind I had (no needles) was a pain reliever. I met someone on Wednesday when I got up there who was an acupuncturist. I was sitting with my head in my hands kinda because it was going to rain and I always get bad headaches when the barometric pressure raises.. the guy asked me what was wrong, I told him. He tells me to wait, goes to his car and brings back these little sticker things. They had a seed in them and they stick directly onto an area on your body! You have to apply a lot of pressure, though. It had a little seed-like object in it which you put on a pressure/acupuncture point (I had two in my outer ear). Every time you start to get a headache or a body ache, you just squeeze the little seed thing as hard as you can. It was so amazing because I was in literally almost NO pain the entire time! Even my back and neck had a very minimal amount of pain. :)

Wow, that was a wall of text! (Actually copied it from my facebook, haha). I didn't take many pictures as I tried to limit my phone usage, but I know a lot of people did and you can find some on the Earthdance website. Hopefully, some of you will attend next years!

Some kinda baby things

So my sister is due in like 5 weeks or something like that and I've been getting together some things for her baby shower gift package I'm going to send. I don't have a lot of money but I am finding some neat little things here and there. I had found this little baby skin care set that was still factory sealed in the shrink wrap and everything at a thrift store and they don't look too horribly old or anything and there were 2 of them for $1 each and it was just one of those things that had been poking at my brain going "You should get those!" so I happened to be at that thrift store again today and remembered and I gave in and bought them. I'm actually pretty excited about it since it's by Burt's Bees which we all know is a really nice brand of product so there's nothing cheap about this kit. It says it was originally $8.95 on the package near the SKU so I figured I got a really good deal. It comes with a little bottle of lotion, a little bar of soap and 2 packets of "bath soak" and a 32 page booklet on baby skin care. I really like what it offers even if it's just sample sizes, and because I scored 2 of them. If you're wondering about it for perhaps a baby shower of someone you know then you can find it for $2 on Amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/Burts-Bees-Baby-Skin-Care/dp/0762419997

On another note, Jacob's contribution was this score find that was at the same thrift store. It's a really adorable pink hoodie with a girly skull on the left chest area, probably for about age 4 or 5. It's really awesome and perhaps a bit ahead of the game but I'm excited about it anyway! Hopefully she will hang onto it until she can wear it.

Other than that I just got a couple of bottles and pacifier's for 0+ months that hopefully she can use. I may pick up some wash cloths but my mom has the rest of things covered.

And last on noteables for the day is that I'm doing sort of a yogurt diet cleanse type. I didn't start it off this morning because we had turkey at Danny's Cafe as we do every Thursday but we opted out of mashed potatoes this time and went for peas. Jacob is doing this with me to be supportive and awesome. So the rest of the day is liquids only and yogurt only, low carb and low fat of course so that basically means Fage Total 0% and Chiobani brand. I didn't realize the flavored ones are so high in carb. My surgeons office told me that basically I'm to have no more than 40g of carbs per day. That's severely hard to do!

All the things.. at once.

So sort of a collab here of ideas and thoughts that have been going on with me the last few weeks. So far, I am still in the gorgeous mountains of Dahlonega, Georgia. I'm not going to lie, I have been craving to just be able to get into a car and see the sights. Jacob has been very kind enough to drive me around and show me all the things on my whim. And also just to go places when I need to get out and walk around. He lives in the basement and I'm having trouble adjusting to that. I did not really leave my own house much as it were, but I lived in a 2nd story bedroom so I still had a nice window of sunshine coming in. Don't get me wrong though, there are windows in this basement. They are just all closed. I just want to DRIVE.

Anyway. So my friend William posted an awesome picture of a man pony. I say man pony because I think it's just MLP (My Little Pony) fan art of a boy pony. I do not think it is actually something from somewhere specific. So it made me want a pony too. I WANT A PONY. So I was googling and found this really awesome pink, purple and black pony with skulls and all kinds of amazingness. I found it here http://www.tomopop.com/sdcc-2011-exclusive-my-little-pony-19967.phtml and apparently it was only available at some Con in 2011. I'm so jealous! I wish I could have this pony. Oh well.

Aside from that, just been playing a lot of Warcraft. Jacob bought me a new desk to have here. Originally we had a $20 one but it was just not comfortable for me to work at and then continue to sit at and play video games. So we got one that is basically the same as the one I have at home just without the extended attached shelving on the side. It's awesome. I love glass desks, they look sleek and modern and nice. So now it really feels more like "home".

I've been feeling slightly guilty about what I had to do to get to where I am now, but in the grand scheme of things I do not feel guilty at all. I think that may be where that guilt is stemming from. Guilty because I don't feel guilty about what I had to do. I did everything as respectfully and civil as I could, considering I had to break someones heart. But at least there were no lies or cheating involved. That's a plus, considering 99% of the time that is the reason people break up. It was my fault for not being honest with myself and trying to convince myself I was over Jacob when I really wasn't. But now we are in the market of buying a house and hope that whatever happens will happen smoothly and in a reasonable amount of time. I'd really like to be on our own and have our little place.

Aside from that not much has been taking my attention. We keep busy but it's nothing extroardinary. We frequent the thrift stores here because we both are complete nerds for them. We also find some yard sales to go to on occasion. I like things like that.

I feel I'm in some creative funk. I have the urge and motivation to be super creative but I don't know where to direct it to. I don't have my jewelry making things here, although I think I have some things to make SOMETHING. I just feel weird about it. I want all MY things to be here, but right now we can't do that.

I also am missing my dog an extreme amount. I miss her so much, it's like this huge void. I am anticipating the day when we can go and pick her up. What I'd do to be able to do it right now...

Shinies!

Sorry for the lack of updates on both of our parts, been really busy at work. I'm working every day, and when I come home, I just relax. I should be picking up another job very shortly, just gotta call back tomorrow. (:

On other news, my LED hoop arrived a few days ago. I'm so happy and excited because I have a blast with it, and it's so pretty. I didn't get a top-of-the-line hoop, but the one I do have is awesome, especially for its super low price! I'm starting a month-long hoop class with five of my greatest friends, I'm so excited! I should be ready for Earthdance in no time. (;

Speaking of Earthdance, everyone go here! www.earthdanceflorida.org and buy your tickets so you can come out and throw down with us. I am so unbelievably excited!

Can't think of anything else to post, so I'm out for now. :3

Oppan gangnam style!

Okay, so I am totally obsessed with this track and video. It's amazing. Now I shall share it with all of you. ♥

MOP and eyeliner

I'm excited for a few things that are coming up. In less than a week there is a World of Warcraft patch that is the pre-patch to the Mists of Pandaria expansion. I've been waiting a long ass time for them pandarens to rear their heads but what's more is that the female ones are extremely adorable! Jacob says they kind of remind him of me. It may sound mean but it's not. I'm totally proud of that compliment!

On another topic, my facebook presented to me this awesome eyeliner guideline tip thingy and it's really awesome. I don't know about anyone else, but I totally suck at putting eyeliner on in any sort of fun design or whatever you want to call it. I just sort of line my waterlines and that's it. I try to do a cat eye of sorts sometimes but it doesn't work, like, ever.. So I thought I would share this with you:

You may be wondering what BFTE is unless you're ahead of the game and already typed the web address into your browser. Well basically they are this awesome company that is not a chain, they make their own mineral makeup and let me tell you I've never really used better eyeshadows and liners in my life! They are so amazing. I don't have any swatches but their Facebook has a lot of people who post pictures of the awesome things they've done with it. Many people use it for face painting of sort and not just as eyeshadow for every day things. I really love them and have spent loads!

Issa me-- Juli!

Hieee, everyone. I'm Juli. Sara and I decided to make this blog after an amazing week-long visit together and it took us until now to decide on a name. We're some pretty awesome chicks, trust me. ;)

Anyway, I suppose a proper introduction is in order. I'm 24 and currently living in Sarasota, Florida, where I was born and raised. I actually plan on moving to Tampa, hopefully sometime by the end of the year or sometime next year, with my boyfriend, Alex, to continue my college education. I'm seeking my bachelor's degree, I already have my associate's in criminal justice. It's been my passion since I was small. I'd love to work in special victim's rights.

Music is another passion of mine, specifically EDM, or electronic dance music, and even more specifically, trance music. It touches my soul in such a way that I cannot put into words. Hardcore and hardstyle invigorate me. I also enjoy jpop and alternative music.

I'm an artist as well, so I will be posting things like art, video games, music, and things I find adorable. Those are just a handful of stuff I will be posting.

Umm, yeah, that's all I can think of for right now. :x Enjoy our blog~

~Juli ♥

Sara's introductory awesomeness

Hello to everyone who may happen upon this blog! My name is Sara and I am one of 2 awesome, nerdy and maybe slightly dorkish women that will be posting to this blog. My friend Juli and I have decided that we needed a place to vent, laugh, creep out and potentially scar people for life. No, really, we just want a place to collaborate our thoughts in one somewhat organized place and hope to bring... something.. to someone.. someday.

So a little about me. Right now I am 27 and staying in Dahlonega, Georgia. I was born in Worth, IL which technically allows me to say I grew up in Chicago. I moved to Fort Myers, Florida when I was 17 and have resided there since about 2 and a half weeks ago when my ex boyfriend + friend wanted to hang out with me for a while. I decided to give it a shot since my current relationship didn't seem to be headed towards anywhere on the "commitment" side, so I took my chances. Jacob (the man I am staying with) has been a huge part of my life for the past 5 years and has taken my heart with him everywhere he goes. He has me. And I have him. Again. Hopefully for good this time!

So that aside, I love arts and crafts and most importantly music. I won't say I am entirely a diverse person when it comes to music, nor would I say that I am really up-to-date and knowledgeable in the music scenes. But I love what I love in my personal music world and it is indeed what gets me by without going completely insane. Without the music that I hold close, I don't know where I'd be right now. I'm sure most of you can relate to that.

I work as a medical transcriptionist and am hired as an independent contractor. That basically means I do not get paid a lot but I can keep my own hours of my choice and take off whenever I want to as long as I let the company know ahead of time so they can fill my slots if possible. That leaves me feeling awesome and unpressured but slightly broke.

I also want to point out that while I may sound well-worded I typo a lot and most of it is on purpose for lack of better vocabulary or just the spur-of-the-moment will to want to make up a word that sounds like I know what I'm talking about.

So with all of that, that's me in a nutshell. I will be posting fashion and art things and lots of dark things, too. Video games, art, music, fashion, make-up and of course nail art because I'm a freak and I'm horrible at it but I'm completely obsessed anyhow with it. That's the basics of what my topics will be. This is meant to just be a whatever is on our mind blog.

Oh I should also mention that I had weight loss surgery. I had a vertical sleeve gastrectomy, which basically means they cut off 85% of my stomach and I am left with a "sleeve" shaped stomach. IT DOES NOT MEAN I HAVE SOMETHING ON MY STOMACH. This is not a foreign object or a band or anything like that. They literally took out 85% of my stomach from my body. So I will also post things about this. Currently I am closing in on 2 months post operation. August 27th will be my 2 month surgerversary. Yep. That's what we call it.

To be able to better recognize who is posting what, we will always sign our posts with our name. I shouldn't have to point that out but some may be wondering.
